Letter to the Editor: In Ward 1 Primary, Experience Counts

From Kingston resident Lyn DelliQuadri that appeared in the Kingston Wire on June 19:

To the Editor:

With Kingston in the midst of a housing availability and affordability crisis, we are very fortunate that Sara Pasti has stepped up to be a candidate for Ward 1 on the Common Council.

The June 27 primary election is our chance to make this good fortune a reality.

Formerly a three-term Beacon City Council member, Pasti brings to Kingston invaluable experience in planning and implementing housing initiatives. Her years in local government developed muscles for the heavy lift of managing politics, process, and public and private interests, as well as diplomacy that can determine the success of a project.

Added to Pasti’s appeal as Ward 1 representative are administrative and financial skills honed during her tenure as Director of the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz. And thumbs up to her current membership on the board of the Midtown Arts District.

Kingston is Sara Pasti’s home. She’s not only concerned about the health, safety, and cultural vitality of our diverse community, but she is willing to use her knowledge and experience to work for it — for all of us.

Vote early every day this week through Sat. June 25 at the Andy Murphy Neighborhood Center.
